The remote Irish island of Arranmore, on the very edge of Europe, was on the brink of extinction. A lack of connectivity was forcing islanders to emigrate.
To demonstrate the power of Three’s connectivity, we transformed this abandoned corner of Ireland into the most high tech part of the country. Now businesses and families can relocate here and with over 3,500 applications of interest, this campaign helped to reverse over 150 years of emigration. We were even invited to present the idea to the European Commission as an example of how to save other isolated communities.
